WORKING WITH OTHER HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Your Nutritional Therapist may suggest you see other wellness professionals to support your health goals. Where this occurs, relevant information about your symptoms and condition may be discussed between team members in a secure and confidential manner to provide you with a coordinated care plan. Your Nutritional Therapist will always ask for your informed consent before sharing information with other practitioners, and will ask whether there is anything you wish to remain confidential.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Anne Andrew Nutrition practises in accordance with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) ethical framework and is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Nutritional Therapy practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual's symptoms and health concerns.

Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking to enhance their general health and wellbeing. Each individual is considered unique — we recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. We will never recommend Nutritional Therapy as a replacement for medical advice, and will always refer any client with 'red flag' signs or symptoms to a medical professional. We frequently work alongside medical professionals and communicate with other healthcare providers involved in a client's care. Standards of professional practice in Nutritional Therapy are governed by the CNHC Code of Conduct. As a CNHC-registered practitioner, Anne Andrew Nutrition adheres to these standards at all times. Details are available at cnhc.org.uk.

PLEASE NOTE

We request that all clients read and acknowledge the following:

  • The degree of benefit from Nutritional Therapy may vary between clients with similar health conditions following a similar programme.

  • Nutritional advice will be tailored to support health conditions and/or health concerns identified and agreed between both parties.

  • Nutritional Therapists are not permitted to diagnose, or claim to treat, medical conditions. Nutritional advice is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

  • Your Nutritional Therapist may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing as part of your programme and may receive a commission on these products or services.

  • This document covers Nutritional Therapy practice only. Your Nutritional Therapist will make it clear if he or she intends to refer you to another specialist consultant outside this scope.

CLIENT AGREEMENT

By signing this document, the client confirms that they understand and agree to the following:

  • I am responsible for contacting my GP about any health concerns.

  • I give permission for Anne Andrew Nutrition to contact my GP regarding any agreed aspects of my care.

  • If I am receiving treatment from my GP or any other medical provider, I will inform them of any nutritional strategy provided — this is important due to possible interactions between medications and a nutritional programme.

  • I will inform my Nutritional Therapist of any medical diagnosis, medications, herbal medicines, or food supplements I am taking, as these may affect the nutritional programme.

  • If I am unclear about any aspect of the agreed nutritional therapy programme, supplement doses, or timescales, I will contact my Nutritional Therapist promptly for clarification.

  • I will contact my Nutritional Therapist if I wish to continue any specified supplement programme beyond the originally agreed period, to avoid any potential adverse reactions.

  • Recording of consultations using any form of electronic media is not permitted without the written consent of both myself and my Nutritional Therapist.
